2 anti-aging freebies

Anti-Aging Freebies

Welcome!

Welcome men and women of all ages on this search for the elusive Fountain of Youth!

I have two surprising anti-aging freebies for you today.

First, let me ask…

Are you looking for that potion which magically turns back the hands of time?

Perhaps for a certain cream which makes wrinkles disappear at first swipe?

Mayhaps your quest is for a return to the physical prowess and flexibility you once had?

Or is it for the days when your mind was quick as a whip and your memory a steel trap?

Read on then my friend, for I have samples a-plenty to share here.

They’re FREE of course. On one condition.

Second, will you indulge me a story or two so you might appreciate for yourself the effective power of these samples? After all, if you don’t believe in the effectiveness of a substance for a given purpose, even if it’s free you won’t take it or try it.

For example…

Imagine if I swore to you that repeatedly jumping up and down on your front lawn yelling “Pizza, Pizza” would instantly remove deep wrinkles from your face.

Would you try it?

No?

Why not?

Because you would have zero belief in the effectiveness of this scheme.

However, if I promised that rubbing bacon grease on your temples would erase those fine lines, those wrinkles, those laugh-lines, you might try it. That’s slightly more believable. Close to other things that you believe work. And it’s something you can do in the privacy of your own home too – without looking too stupid to your neighbors.

Now I’m not saying this works. I’m only saying it to gain your agreement that we must have a certain level of confidence in a thing’s effectiveness before we’ll even think to try it. Even if it’s free!

Going way out there now on the believability scale, we see those high-priced lotions and potions sold by celebrities on TV. If it’s super-expensive and backed by science, and so-and-so from that soap opera says it works on that expensive infomercial, you’re far more likely to buy it and try it.

Even though its effectiveness might be overstated.

Beliefs matter.

Which is exactly why placebo’s work.

That said, lets start with the big one.

Anti-Aging Freebie #1

The secret to a longer, more productive life.

Most of us know about these famous people and their accomplishments…

Michelangelo – created some of his best paintings after age 80
Goethe – wrote the famous “Faust” well past 80
Thomas Edison – prolific and still inventing into his 90’s
Picasso – dominated the art world well into his 90’s
Frank Lloyd Wright – most creative architect of his time at 90+
George Bernard Shaw – working playwright past 90
Grandma Moses – didn’t even start painting until 79
Colonel Sanders – active success with his KFC from age 65-90

What secret did they possess which made it possible for them to live longer, more productive lives than most people?

Creativity!

Actuary tables seem to confirm this as well. Creative workers – research scientists, inventors, painters, writers, philosophers not only live longer lives, but remain productive longer than non-creative workers. Dr. Maxwell Maltz documents this fact in his best-selling book, Psycho-Cybernetics.

He goes on to state, “The essence of creativity is looking forward towards a goal.”

“Develop an enthusiasm for life, create a need for more life, and you will receive more life.”

Dr. Maxwell Maltz

Nowhere is skill or talent listed as a requirement. You simply need to be looking forward to something. Working toward something. Your thinking should always be future based. Not rehashing past mistakes and regrets

You could be looking forward to:

  • That sculpture hidden in the clay you are molding now.
  • That watercolor scene soon to emerge from your blank page.
  • That book you will soon finish.
  • That song you will master this week or next on the piano or guitar.
  • That table you are building in the garage.
  • That beautiful scarf you are knitting for your granddaughter.
  • That delightful and colorful garden which will bloom in the Spring.
  • That business you are working on, which will soon leave a legacy for generations.
  • That vacation you’ve planned to finally see ________________.
  • That new recipe you’ll serve to your spouse, family or friends.
  • That special new friend you met online

Creativity only requires that you have a vision of what “could be” one day.

You might also call it HOPE. Or Optimism.

“When you are looking forward to something, working toward something, life works with you to give you more life.”

Dr. Maxwell Maltz

Stories abound of folks on their deathbed who cheated death day by day, holding on for a spouse, a birthday, some holiday, or special event. Then, they died the day after.

Their hope, their vision for a brighter “some day”, actually prolongs their life.

Want to live longer? Want to be more productive?

Start something that needs time. Plan something for the future of it.
Begin it right now.

Starting is free!

Here’s a bonus tip not found in Dr. Maltz’s “50 million copies sold” best selling book. But one I discovered for myself.

Hands – Doing thing with your hands seems to be key.

One of the largest brain-body connections runs from your brain to your hands.

Using your hands:

  • Reduces stress
  • Increases focus
  • Builds fine motor skills and strength
  • Keeps the mind fresh

There’s even a scientific study which claims to predict a person’s longevity based upon their hand strength. Lower hand strength is predictive of a shorter life span. And vice-versa.

If you can find a stimulating pursuit which requires detailed, thoughtful use of your hands, you give yourself an automatic advantage towards a longer, happier, more productive life.

Anti-Aging Freebie #2

Greater Strength and Flexibility

Could you benefit from greater strength and flexibility?

You bet your life you could – literally!

Here’s the condition upfront for this – Patience.

Plan on two years of consistent practice to achieve meaningful results.

Let time become your friend. Your accomplice. Your ally.

Did you know that as recently as 100 years ago, doctors would advise men over 40 to avoid any type of physical activity? Harmful they said.

Such craziness we think now!

No wonder people used to die so young!

Now we know that this nonsense is just not true.

In fact, the more active we are, the longer, more healthier lives we can live.

At any stage in our life we can choose to move more.

Even if we must start our movements from the very chair we sit in.

Obviously we can’t just jump right in lifting weights like we used to as a teen. Or swim laps, or run marathons.

But we CAN begin. Right where we are. No matter our current condition.

Dr. T.K. Cureton, a pioneered in the reconditioning of men ages 45-80, suggests two years as a reasonable time for developing the ability to engage in really strenuous activity.

Here’s are 6 steps you can use to begin gaining strength and flexibility at any age:

  1. Start where you are – floor stretching if you can, chair yoga if that’s all you can do.
  2. Walk – around the house, around the block, at the high school track, on a treadmill. Gradually increase to 5 miles!
  3. Add push ups, deep knee bends, light weights to whatever level you can without pain or injury. Build up from there as you can.
  4. Visit Youtube, Instagram, or any of the hundreds of websites and apps offering fitness guidance for seniors. Learn how I recovered to pain-free knees here.
  5. Make fitness a daily habit. Consistency is the key to every success.
  6. Be patient. I thought I’d never recover from my knee injury. It was almost two years. Wish I’d have known that then. Now you do!

“Dr. Cureton took decrepit, “feeble” men of 50, 60, and even 70 and had them running file miles a day at the end of 24-36 months,” writes Dr. Maltz in his book, Psych-Cybernetics. “They not only felt better, but medical tests showed improvements in heart function and other vital organs as well.”

You may not desire to run 5 miles. And I don’t advise that as a goal. But greater strength and flexibility are always needed to stay functional and safe.

Weakness and lack of flexibility leads to falls, injury, and death.

We don’t want that.

As much as we need food, water, oxygen and shelter, we need exercise and creative pursuits to stay vital as human beings. We need basic materials for survival and a dream or goal to pull us forward.

So many retirees die in the first few years of their retirement because they never find something worthwhile (for them) to do. Lack of purpose, of goals, and the feeling of success, contribution and value they create – steals the very life force from them.

Movement is free.

Get yourself moving daily to feel younger, look younger, become stronger, and live longer.

Sure, these anti-aging freebies aren’t pills or lotions, or creams.

We’d all like to take the easy way out. The push-button solutions.

But life doesn’t work that way. You know this!

Just as with any meaningful success, you must put in the work.

But that doesn’t mean the work can’t be enjoyable!

Choose something you’d like to create – then begin it.

Remember,

“The best time to plant that tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”

You can always change your mind. Experiment, flip from thing to thing. Why not!

Then, once you’ve chosen something important to do, it almost guarantees that you’ll be moving more.

Then, you’ll want to move better. Enter – the exercise mode!

Do more. Be more. Look forward to more!

This is your Fountain of Youth.

And it’s free for the taking.

Drink deep!

Only your time is required. Imagine you’ve 30 years left.

Plenty of time to accomplish something great!

Just ask the Colonel!

Finger Lickin’ Good!

That’s life!
