Total Restore – Product Review

Do you have this is the problem with pop-up ads?

It was dark and raining. The early morning sun I so desperately needed to improve my mood, was hidden hopelessly behind grey clouds.

I grabbed a cup of coffee and popped on the internet to check my email. Instead, I got an ad for a product that seemed to have a very specific way to solve my health problems. Intestinal distress, low energy, general un-wellness, chronic this or that.

I forget exactly what problem I was frustrated with that day, but after watching an hour long infomercial with Dr. Gundry, it seemed like his supplement product, “Total Restore” might just be the thing for me.

Rather than treating some specific health condition, I think I bought it as a sun substitute. What I really wanted that morning was to be happy. Buying this product let me feel just a little bit in control of my life again. I was “doing something”.

Total Restore by Gundry MD is the name of the product I purchased. You can get it at Amazon.com.

As I understand it, the central idea behind the product is that many of our ailments are caused by teenie-tiny “leaks” in our digestive system. These holes, or leaks, let toxins from our digestive system leach out into our bodies. These toxins then find a home, usually some weakness within our body, and attack. This causes us to experience distress or disease.

We, and doctors, often puzzle over the source or cause of our ailments and conventional treatments therefore fail us.

But what if we have a slow leak inside and just can’t tell?

My pool floaties always get this. One day they seem perfectly fine, but a day or say later they’re deflated. Only by holding every square inch under water and looking for air bubbles seeping out can I tell what’s happening. Then I guess I would need to shoot in some kind of Fix-A-Flat to seal the deal.

This is how I understood Gundry MD’s Total Restore would work.

The ingredients and proprietary blends in each capsule would search through and help heal any leaks in my 30 odd feet of intestines.

Sounds reasonable. Worst case, it has lots of beneficial herbs and spices.

So what’s the harm?

After taking the recommended 3 capsules each day with a full glass of water, 90 capsules in all over the 30 days, I can honestly report that I felt no change in my body what-so-ever. Nothing. Not better. Not worse.

To my mind that can mean two things:

  • There was nothing damaged in my digestive system to fix. Very good news I guess.
  • I’m a leaking sieve, doomed to die, and the product did not perform as described.

How am I to know? I’m not a doctor and never played one (on TV anyway).

It’s hard for me to rate this product.

On the one hand, you might have exactly the problem this can help with. There are many favorable reviews on Amazon.com.

On the other hand, at $55 for one bottle (with discounts for multiple bottles purchased, by why buy more until you know it helps?) and because I got no perceived benefit personally…

I have to rate this product with a thumbs down.
